Vacancy - Orchestral Woodwind Tutor

The CYO is seeking to employ a woodwind tutor to join our friendly and committed team. The post holder will be responsible for coaching the woodwind section of our Senior and Intermediate Orchestras as well as providing small group/ individual lessons for our new trainees. The successful applicant would join a team of orchestral tutors who are all active musicians. Responsibilities:

  •  To attend rehearsals and concerts, assisting CYO members, Tutors and the Music Director

  •  To teach woodwind lessons, ideally oboe/flute/clarinet, with some knowledge of other woodwind instruments

  •  To support the members and other orchestral tutors, promoting CYO and a passion for music

  •  To liaise with other orchestral tutors in order to share information as required

  • To promote and support recruitment of CYO members in the local area

The successful candidate will be required every Saturday during term time, between the hours of 8:30 – 12:15pm. The postholder will need to make a regular commitment to CYO Saturday mornings during term-time. This position is subject to a satisfactory references and DBS check prior to appointment. Rehearsals are held on Saturday mornings during term time from 9.00am until 12.15pm at Trinity Methodist Church, Wagg Street, Congleton.
