Orchestra Representative

Orchestra Representative

Petra Hamilton

I’m Petra, and I’ve been at CYO for nearly seven years – I joined the Intermediates in September 2018 and have worked my way up to being lead first flute in the Seniors. I’ve had so many amazing opportunities with CYO, including conducting ‘Gymnopédie No. 3’ at the 30th Anniversary Concert in 2024, as well as fulfilling my dream of playing the piccolo when given the chance a few years ago. Outside of the orchestra, I’ve recently put this skill to the test by successfully securing the piccolo part in my college’s production of ‘Legally Blonde’, and I’m so grateful that CYO made this possible for me. I’m honoured to have been chosen as an Orchestra Representative and am excited to represent the voices of the players of CYO.

Orchestra Representative

Katie Harrison

I have been a member of the CYO for eight years. I came along to one of the taster days, not knowing which instrument I wanted to play, just knowing I wanted to be part of an orchestra. Having the opportunity to try several instruments on the day was brilliant, but as soon as I tried the cello, I knew it was the instrument I wanted to play. After a year as a beginner, I moved into the intermediate orchestra and soon began leading the cello section. Over the years, I have enjoyed helping the more junior members learn the pieces, and now, as orchestra rep, I am proud to be a voice of the orchestra.

Yuki Kagajo

My name is Yuki and both my children play violin in the orchestra. I am a musician as well - I teach piano at home in Alsager and at two private schools in Shropshire. I also sometimes professionally perform.
In addition to piano music I love orchestral music. I often go to concerts by the BBC Philharmonic, having a few friends playing in there.
