Hello! I’m Mary and I’ve been playing the violin for 10 years. I joined the Intermediate Orchestra 8 years ago and have been in the Seniors for 5 years. I’m in Year 12 at Sandbach School.

Lucy Elkin
Hi my name is Lucy I am one of the player representatives for CYO. I first joined the orchestra in 2017 where I began playing in the Intermediate Orchestra, having already played the flute for four years. I now play first flute in the Senior Orchestra, and sometimes the piccolo Throughout my time at CYO I have seen the orchestra progress and overcome numerous challenges. My hope is to encourage players are more involved in this process.

Claire Venables
Claire Venables was elected Secondary Schools Head of Music Representative at the A.G.M. in November 2013 Claire is Head of Music at Eaton Bank Academy. She plays the piano, clarinet and saxophone and is also involved in musical theatre productions in Macclesfield. Claire has been teaching for seven years and graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2005 before moving to MMU to complete her PGCE.

Maxine Evett
I have been a local business owner and landlord for a number of years in Congleton. My children joined CYO in 2013 in the training sessions and have progressed through the various groups are currently now both in the senior orchestra playing the violin and percussion and they absolutely love it.
I became a CYO chaperone in 2016 and was appointed to the post of Designated Safety Officer in January 2021.

Sally-Ann Holland
Sally Holland is a mother of two, and enjoys working with young people. She is engaged in the local community through her ties with Congleton Town Council where she has been a Town Councillor since 2003, also a Cheshire East Councillor since 2019.
She Enjoys walking with her family and her two dogs and looks forward to when local performances and concerts can resume.

Tracy has two children in in the orchestra and also helps with supervising and pastoral care. She is a registered Chaperone.
