Recruitment Open Day

We are delighted that we will be resuming our Recruitment Open days which had to be curtailed due to Covid.  We will be holding an Open Rehearsal from 09.00am – 12 Noon for anyone who can already play (from Grade 1 and above) and from 11.00am – 12 noon for total beginners who would like to join our Training Groups (subject to minimum numbers).

If you know anyone who would like to come along with a view to joining, then please tell all your musical friends.  This is their opportunity to have a go !

Diary sheets

Some of you may remember we used to have a Diary Sheet available at senior rehearsals so that you could put your name down if you were unable to attend a particular rehearsal.  That system has now been reinstated, so if you know in advance of your absence, then please put your name down in the appropriate box.  This will give the music staff a better idea of how to plan which music to rehearse.

David Daniel Award

This year will be the first time that this award will be made and it will take the form of a monetary award to the musician who has shown excellence in music and attendance and commitment to the orchestra. (It will not be available to anyone who is leaving this year).  There will be one award for a Senior member and one for an Intermediate member.  The Awards will be presented during the summer concert in July.  Good luck everyone !

Music Sponsorship Scheme

If you or a member of your friends or family would like to sponsor a piece of music to add to our Music Library then please contact the Secretary (Helen Chappel) for more information.  Each time a particular piece of music is played we acknowledge their sponsorship in the programme.

Love Music Trust Orchestral Weekend

The LMT are hoping to hold another orchestral Weekend on 29th & 30th of September.  This was very successful last year and they are hoping to widen it to musicians from Cheshire West this time making it even bigger and better.  More details later.

  • Saturday 8th July 2023 - Town Hall, Congleton (evening)

  • Sunday 10th December 2023 - Town Hall, Congleton (afternoon)

  • Saturday 23rd March 2024 - Provisional Date subject to Town Hall availability

  • Saturday 6th July - Provisional Date subject to Town Hall availability.
