Fundraising - how you can help
Congleton Youth Orchestra is a charity and as such relies heavily on its two main streams of income: sponsorship/donations and student fees.
Fundraising
Our simplest form of fundraising is receipt of cash donations; either for purchasing music, or for more general use. Donations can be made via a bank transfer to: Congleton Youth Orchestra, 20-53-77, 90700444. Please let us know if you are making a bank transfer by email to the Secretary. You can also advise how you wish the money to be used; sponsoring some music at one of our concerts for example, or towards new instruments, or just general running costs. Cheques or cash are also acceptable!
Donations

Sponsorship
CYO is very fortunate to have two or three regular sponsors who, together with any ticket sales, effectively cover the costs of the three concerts we put on each year. However, the remainder of the annual running expenses of the orchestra have to be covered through the student fees and whatever other fundraising can be achieved.
Student Fees
Under HMRC rules CYO can claim Gift Aid on the student fees where the fee payers also pay UK tax and the appropriate declaration has been made. If you pay student fees and are a tax payer, but have not yet signed a Gift Aid form and would like to do so, please see below for details.
CYO now has an official JustGiving page where supporters can make donations (with or without Gift Aid). From time to time we will set up specific campaigns on our page (eg Swimathon) for focused donations. But otherwise a donation can be made at any time for as little or as much as you wish, one-off or regular. If you would like to make a general donation, please visit our JustGiving donation page here: https://www.justgiving.com/charity/congleton-youth-orchestra
Gift Aid can also be claimed on single or regular donations. If you are a UK tax payer and willing to allow Gift Aid to be claimed, please complete the relevant form here (single or regular).
Alternatively, you can download the paper-based ones (single and regular) and email to treasurer@congleton-youth-orchestra.org or hand to the Secretary for processing.
When making purchases online supporters can generate income for CYO from the retailers visited. Retailers cover a wide range, from Amazon to Waterstones and all types of purchases from electrical goods to groceries, take-aways to holidays. The amounts raised vary from retailer to retailer, from as little as 0.2% per transaction to 10% per transaction. So do please consider setting this up, it costs you nothing, and every transaction helps. Even the small amounts can add up to a surprising sum during the year if we all join in. The more people we have supporting the CYO cause the better. Sign up here.
